Association Diagn’art

Alioune Diagne, senegalese dancer and choreographer, was born in Saint-Louis in 1982. Since his childhood, he bears the idea that culture and art art are the driving forces of development, expression, debate and education. Since 2006, he artistically embodies this belief in his hometown, in a project divided into three parts :

The Contemporary Dance Company Diagn’art
Which has been exporting its creations worldwide for more than ten years (Banlieue, Leuk, Siki…)

The Duo Solo Danse Festival
Since 2008 is part of the senegalese cultural landscape as a springboard for young talents, a place where dance professionals gather, share their experience and benefit from other’s through workshops. The festival is also a dissemination space, often engaged and provocative, for amateur audiences and professionals from West Africa.

Le Château, long-time headquarters of the festival, has now become a vibrant cultural center anchored in the city, a place for research and artistic creation, training and multidisciplinary residencies for artists from all around the world. This is also a place open to inter-artistic and inter-cultural debate, with a rich programming throughout the year.
